A copy of the message from the current BC to the OCA

I am really sorry that myself, the B.S.M and other members of Inkerman cannot be with you tonight, unfortunately we must be elsewhere on Regimental business. Last year's Reunion was my first event as BC 49, and what a way to begin! I know that everyone will have a great time, and I only wish I could be there as well.

As you probably already know the Battery, along with the rest of 40 Regiment are soon to deploy to Basra, Iraq. Over the last 6 months we have all had to cope with all the usual pre-tour problems, and I'm very pleased to say that all the Battery have acquitted themselves in an outstanding way. Many have found themselves attached to the Gun Batteries, which will deploy as Rifle Companies, and many have set the pace for others to follow. The tour will not be an easy one, but I believe that everyone has had enough of the talking and want to get on with the business in hand

I hope that you have a great evening, and we look forward to the Reunion in 2007 when we will bore you silly with the stories,
